“My father never looked back, but he always looked forward to the future”

Tonino Lamborghini

Tractors, cars, helicopters and… burners!

In 1959, during a trip to the US, Ferruccio discovers some factories that produce burners and his thoughts immediately turn to Italy.

In fact, in those years the Bel paese was experiencing its economic boom and the house, with all its comforts, was taking on a central role.

Ferruccio senses that burners are the object of the future, intended to replace coal-fired boilers for heating.

So, after only one year from the travel in the States, he founded Lamborghini Bruciatori Condizionatori, establishing himself on the market with competitive prices and cutting-edge technology, immediately experiencing enormous success.

In that same year he conceived and built the first prototype of the Lamborghini helicopter, with the idea of starting a production that unfortunately never saw the light.

The Lamborghini motorboat

It was 1968 in Sarnico, on the shores of Lake Iseo.

Ferruccio is having lunch with Carlo Riva to talk about his latest creation, the Aquarama, a luxury motorboat that had caught the attention of man.

Lamborghini is convinced by the design of the boat, but he wasn’t about the engine.

So he asks Riva to be able to customize his motorboat by fitting the V12 engine of his Lamborghini 350GT instead of the serie-production V8.

The entrepreneur accepts and within 3 months the boat is ready.

That Aquarama prototype, later renamed Riva Aquarama Lamborghini, was the fastest model ever.

The modification made by Ferruccio made the boat reach the maximum speed of 48 knots against 40 of the serie-production model.

“I’ll take it but I’ll take care of the engines thanks!”

Cars, tractors, helicopters, boats, air conditioners…

The vision and ingenuity of this extraordinary man went far beyond human understanding…

and now a question naturally arises…

what would Ferruccio have been able to create if he had had the technological possibilities of our times?

What other goals would he have achieved?

The answer to this question can be found in the collection created by Maciej Kuciara in honor of Ferruccio Lamborghini.
